The timing is ripe for the rise of independent shops, many with broader expertise and capabilities then the digital explosion of the early 2000s when the full-service model went into meltdown.

This is really well written, thanks Josh. How will we know if these EOO companies are hiring diverse candidates in junior roles in order to boost up their numbers? Aside from 'racism' what are the other factors keeping the diversity numbers low?

I think they delineate between managerial staff and other employees. But it will take years, if not a decade or more, to make the industry more equitable.
